There may be times when you just might need a little pick-me-up. You may be seeking a little motivation or times when you just need something to ponder. Something to make you think. A few words of wisdom may be the answer.
Wisdom

- The body of knowledge or principles,
- The quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgement.(1)
Words of Wisdom
- A collection of words and/or phrases given by God or that the author has found to be true through experience, knowledge, and good judgement.
Spiritual Gift of Wisdom
“For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit…”
1 Corinthian 12:8 NKJV
This gift from God is given to provide an individual with the ability to have a much deeper understanding of God, the world around them, and/or a specific situation. The ability to have a righteous perspective, increase holiness, stir in us worship, and transform the hearts of women.
What inspired this category?
This actually started a few Christmas’ ago and actually started as a “Secret Santa” project at work.
I am also an Executive Director for an assisted living facility in our area. Each Christmas we have a tradition of hosting a Secret Santa project amongst the employees.
We each draw a name and with that name comes a list of things they have told us they liked. Simple things like favorite color, favorite flower, favorite hobby or pastime, etc. For 3-4 weeks, depending on when Thanksgiving falls that year, we purchase one small gift, each week for the first 2-3 weeks. Hiding it in plain site somewhere in our facility for them to find.
On the fourth week we purchase a larger gift and present it to them at our employee Christmas party. It is only then that they find out who their Secret Santa is.
Creating an experience for them.
The first year I drew a name and checked my list of things they liked. I wanted to do more than just by a random gift, wrap it up, and leave it for them to find. Also, I wanted to create an experience for the season.
I began researching scripture and inspirational quotes to build this experience. With each quote, I would determine what the focus would be, look at their list of likes, and choose a gift.
Each week, I would provide them with the quote on the gift name tag. In the gift bag they would also find 3-4 paragraphs of insight in an anonymous letter. Sharing with them how the quote can have an impact on daily life. Then they would unwrap a gift that would support the quote and provide them with a visual reminder.
This is so much fun and each year we can’t wait to see who’s name we get.

There will be times when the experience and knowledge of those before us or those currently around us will be just the inspiration we were needing to motivate ourselves to that next level. The quotes I choose to use may be found in scripture. Maybe spoken by someone, from our past or present. Someone who has found it to be true through experience, knowledge, and good judgement.
