Moto Campout: 3rd Annual Lil River Moto Campout
So, disconnecting from the day-to-day, reconnecting with nature and just enjoying the fellowship of your sisters. That is what the 3rd annual LiL River Moto Campout is all about. Sleeping in a tent and spending a little time on the Llano River with about 55-60 of your closest lady biker friends was just what the soul needed.
Ladies in Leather (LiL)
LiL-who are they? LiL is short for Ladies in Leather and Ladies in Leather is a group of female motorcycle riders who participate in the largest ALL FEMALE traveling motorcycle parade in the US. You can find us on Facebook.
The best group of gals you will ever learn to call friends. A group of gals that have each other's back, ride together and support each other.
Moto Campout
On June 9th-11th, 2021a group of us gathered at Robinson Llano County Park located in Llano, Texas for fellowship and a good time.
Moto-camping was a new experience for some. Some had never put up a tent on their own before. Some had never slept in a sleeping bag on a sleeping mat on the ground but were determined not to miss this.
Having the park to ourselves for the weekend, we each unpacked gear from our bikes. Yes, for some of us everything we needed for the weekend had been managed to be packed on our bikes, including our tents.
Looking out across the park, trying to find the perfect spot to set up, the girls were all helping each other get their tents set up and secure enough that they wouldn’t fall during the night...lol. That would not be good.
After riding in the rain all day Friday to get to Llano, dinner and sleep was about all we wanted to do when we finally got the tents set up.
It had been about a 6 hour ride but the rain had made it seem much longer.
Sleep had been refreshing but we woke up Saturday morning to rain on the tent rooftop. Rained off and on until about 11 that morning.
After that, we hit the water...lol.
So, Ladies in Leather, “our stories are all the same, but yet so different. When we throw our leg over that bike we become one entity. We are SISTERS in the wind….Lady Riders.” Amber Cohen-Founder.
While this post is not about how to moto camp, it is about a moto camping experience. If you are looking for what to pack and how, you can visit Motowitch Collective to learn more. Even a checklist.
